Cheap Flights Holiday: 12 Hours in Dublin

£19 flights to Dublin? Sign me up!

Dublin had been on my mind for the longest time since it’s such an easy flight from Glasgow, so when me and my friends had a free day in the middle of June, we did exactly that. With £19 return flights and predicted sunny weather, it really was a no-brainer. Keep reading to find out my thoughts on Dublin!

As a city, Dublin has so much to offer. A lot more than what can be explored in a day. However, we did discover some fun bars and tasty restaurants that you can’t miss if you also decide to visit ๐Ÿบ

Our first stop was Isabelle’s for lunch. After an early morning flight, we were excited to sit down with some drinks and food and plan for the day ahead, We stumbled upon this place by accident and let me tell you, it was by far the best accident we could have asked for. Our orders were simple (margarita pizzas and chips) but perfectly made with melt-in-your-mouth flavour. The staff were so friendly and for this reason alone I just have to recommend it to you. Located on 13-14 Anne St, Isabelle’s has a great menu and even an outdoor terrace if you’re lucky enough to visit when the sun is out!

Next, we walked around the streets taking everything in there is to offer. Every corner showcased bright flags, colourful bunting, strings of fairy lights, and beautiful old buildings. One of my favourite parts of every trip is exploring the streets so this was extremely enjoyable for me. With stops in nearby bars for a drink or two, souvenir shops to buy postcards, and the Dublin Vintage Factory for a quick shopping fix, the day was just beginning.

We tried to visit the Dublin Castle but unfortunately the gates were closed :( Keep this in mind and be sure to check the opening times beforehand if you plan to stop by!

Up next was Trinity College Dublin! A must see for all lovers of the TV series Normal People. We strolled around the grounds taking in the beautiful architecture before it started to rain and we had to run for cover.

Whenever I next revisit Dublin, a must-do for me is to see the Old Library and Book of Kells. Unfortunately it was fully booked for the day we went but I have no doubt it is a sight to be seen.

Now for the start of the show… Temple Bar! We knew before coming here that Temple Bar was one of (if not the most) popular spots in Dublin and despite the high prices and busy crowds it did not disappoint in the slightest. With live music and a great atmosphere, it was by far the highlight of our entire time in Ireland. We stayed here for the remainder of the night, singing along with the band on-stage and even trying a (half pint) of Guinness.

And that’s a wrap on Dublin! we had such a fun 12 hours in the City and will hopefully revisit to see all we missed one day in the future. Let me know in the comments if you’ve been to any of these spots or, if you have any recommendations <3
